CALL TO ACTION: Support Needed For Transportation Budget Package
MAY 14, 2013 | The Washington State Legislature’s special session begins today, giving lawmakers the opportunity to resolve budget disputes for the 2013-2015 biennium, consider a transportation package, and address policy priorities that Senate Republicans refused to vote on last month.
Progress was made during session toward a transportation funding package that would include a stable, permanent funding source for the maintenance and operation of our state infrastructure. It is essential that we keep momentum going for passing adequate transportation funding this special session.
During the break, members of a state-wide coalition of business, labor, government and environmental and transit advocates worked together to create a video message to legislators. The message is simple: Pass the transportation package, now.
